Zakat is the obligatory annual charity that every adult, sane Muslim who possesses wealth above the Nisab must pay. It is 2.5% of accumulated wealth held for one lunar year.

Who Must Pay Zakat?

- Adult Muslims

- Sane individuals

- Those whose wealth exceeds the Nisab

- Wealth held for one full lunar year

What is Nisab?

The Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim must own before Zakat becomes obligatory. It is equivalent to 85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver.

What is Zakatable?

- Cash and savings

- Gold and silver

- Business inventory

- Agricultural produce

- Livestock

- Investments and stocks

How to Calculate?

Zakat = 2.5% of total zakatable wealth after deducting immediate debts and expenses.
